1. Download the plugin
The file is about 12 MB and ends in .ccx. That is the standard package format for Adobe plugins.
If you want to be sure the file reached you unchanged, compare its SHA-256 checksum against the one we publish in the accompanying file. On macOS the command is shasum -a 256, on Windows certutil -hashfile with SHA256.
2. Install it
Close InDesign first. A plugin that arrives while InDesign is running is only picked up after a restart, and on some systems not at all.
Then double-click the downloaded file. Creative Cloud opens, asks you to confirm, and installs the plugin. Start InDesign again afterwards.
You will find the panel under Plug-Ins > TagAlly Pro > TagAlly Pro. In older InDesign versions it is under Window > Extensions. It docks like any other panel and works best at about 380 pixels wide or wider.
3. Keep using it: your licence key
For thirty days the panel runs in full without a key and shows you how many days are left. To keep using it, buy a licence in our store. The key unlocks the installation you already have, so nothing needs to be installed again.
Your key came with your order — on the confirmation page and in the receipt e-mail if you bought in our store, or by e-mail if you bought on invoice. It is one long line beginning with TA1.
Open the panel, scroll to the licence strip at the bottom, paste the key and confirm. That is all: the check runs on your own computer, with no connection to us and no account.
After the thirty days without a key, the panel keeps checking and explaining, exactly like the free TagAlly Check, and the repairs, the export and the validation wait for a key.
4. The helper program
The export, the repair step and the PDF/UA validation need a small helper program. It is included in the package you just installed — on first start the panel sets it up and launches it with a single click. Nothing is downloaded for that and nothing is installed system-wide.
It needs Node.js 18 or newer and a Java runtime on your computer, and for the validation itself the free validator veraPDF. If veraPDF is missing, the panel offers to install it for you — or you do it by hand, in a minute. If the first start does not work, the helper page explains what to check, and it also offers the helper as a separate download.
Updates
Updates do not arrive automatically in this channel — Creative Cloud only updates what it installed itself. When a new version is ready we write to you, and you install it exactly as above: download, close InDesign, double-click. Your licence key stays valid; you do not enter it again.
With a team licence, updates are included for as long as the subscription runs. With a perpetual licence, the first year is included, and after that they come with the optional maintenance.
